Use the Cameron County custodian that matches the record:
- Court case files: see criminal court case records, or contact the clerk of the court that heard the case
- Criminal-history records: contact the Texas Department of Public Safety
- Arrest, booking, and jail records: contact the Cameron County Sheriff's Office
- Official checks: order through the Texas Department of Public Safety
- Police reports and incident records: contact the agency that wrote the report
- Expunction or nondisclosure: file through the court authorized by Texas law

For felony case files, the District Clerk is at 974 E. Harrison Street, Brownsville, TX 78520; criminal questions use 956-544-0839 and records requests use 956-574-8130. Class A and B misdemeanor files belong to the County Clerk and Courts at Law at the same complex. The Criminal District Attorney accepts focused Texas Public Information Act requests at dapir@co.cameron.tx.us. Confirm counter hours before visiting.
